Priorities

I heard a quote the other day from a Ministry Conference podcast. I can't find the quote again (arrgggh), but it was from either Mark Batterson or Craig Groeschel. Both of them are well worth listening to (or reading, if you have their books).

Here is the quote, and I've personalized it for me.

"NLCC doesn't so much need a well preached sermon, as it needs a well lived life."

It really made me pause and think of what needs to be my top priorities. Am I growing in my walk with Christ? Is my heart more sensitive to the Holy Spirit? Is my relationship with Gena growing deeper and closer? Do I pray for my kids and pour myself into them? Is God's Word working itself out in my words, character, and actions?

It's so easy for me to ignore, or at least diminish, the importance of living in balance and grace and crave the kudos and praise from a well preached sermon. It's embarrassing to admit how much I desire the praise of people sometimes.

God, give me your perspective, and the strength to keep the main things, the main things!
